My Sigma experience began in 1996 when I was inducted as a Rhoer under the Gamma Nu Sigma Chapter and worked closely with women in the undergraduate chapter Gamma Theta on various campuses. Since Eta Nu Sigma's chartering in 1991, some of the chapter's service activities have included its Wee Savers program, which provides financial workshops to youth throughout Brooklyn, Operation Big Book Bag, during which the chapter donates hundreds of dollars worth of school supplies to under-privileged grade schoolers, and annual participation in New York Cares Day. In addition, many chapters have expanded this project to be implemented twice a year because the supplies given in the fall often need replenishing after the New Year holiday. Beta Rho Sigma Chapter is located in Denver, Colorado and was charted in 1951 serving as mentors to female high school students through the Rhoer Club Program and the support of the Philo Club resulting in the presentation of over 600 women to society in their Annual Debutante Presentation.
